About Kristinhús

The House

The house is an old family house from the 15th century. The stone wall is the original exterior wall of the house, which has been in our family for at least 10 generations.

Enjoy your stay in our lovely house with soul in beautiful surroundings.

Living Area

The ground floor is the oldest part of the house, which in 2020/2021 was completely renovated with entrance, kitchen, laundry room and a single bedroom.

The staircase to the first floor dates from 1895, when two brothers divided the original house into two living units and extended the house with a floor and ceiling. The first floor was partially renovated in 2009, and you will be able to see that time always leaves its mark, so it will be our next project :)

On the first floor there is a double bedroom, bathroom, living room with staircase to the ceiling and hallway with access to the new large terrace where the sun can be enjoyed from morning to evening.

The attic has been used for storage, and during World War II also used for hiding. In 2009, the ceiling became two double bedrooms and a living room with the possibility of three extra beds on floor mattresses. The large window to the east provides a beautiful view in all kinds of weather.

Guest Access

As a guest in Kristinhús you have access to the whole house and its facilities, parking for 3 cars in the square marked 'Privat parkering', and an outfield on the other side of the river, where the children can play and climb the low rock wall.
